Introducing "CORE" by Echo 19 Audio - NOW AVAILABLE!

Today, Friday the 26th, marks the first official release of the highly anticipated "CORE" audio production by Echo 19! With almost three years in the works, the team is so happy and excited to finally share this with the public, and are looking forward to improving and enhancing DCS even further with our own “flavor”. This mod aims to replace and enhance the in-game audio for DCS: World and a few of its available modules.

 

Here is a list of audio tweaked, changed and adjusted - with much more to come in future updates!  It’s a lot to look at, but we wanted to highlight the things you can listen out for.

 

Ambience:

  • Wind (varying speeds)

  • Fields (day and night)

  • Forest

  • Water

  • Rain & Rain Drops

  • Thunder (variable distances)

  • Fire burning / wreckage fire

  • G-breath

  • Landing gear sounds

  • Sonic boom

UI / Interaction:

  • Menu button clicks (editor control)

 Weapons / Explosions:

  • Air explosion

  • Distant ground explosions (6 new effects)

  • Ground explosions (8 new effects with varying intensity)

  • Water explosion

Aircraft: (note: several modules like the AV8, Mirage and AJS-37 utilize a lot of the “CORE” or “Shared” sounds and we cannot separate all aircraft like we want)

AV8-B

  • Flyby effect replaced

  • Approach/distance sounds replaced

  • Tweaked interior

  • Tweaked configuration files

Mirage M2000

  • New flyby effects (shared – core audio)

  • Several new interior sounds / tweaked

 AJS-37

  • Affected by new core/shared audio

MiG-21

  • Affected by new core/shared audio

  • Received some separate cockpit and external enhancements

 FC3 (F-15, SU-33, MiG-29, etc…)

  • These aircraft have received new flyby, approach and distance sounds to be more consistent with the overall tonality of this mod.

  • Several cockpit adjustments to each plane

SU-25

  • New external samples (tweaked/replacements)

TU-95 / IL-76

  • o   A few new sounds to fit with the rest of the shared audio

KC-135

  • Several new enhancements and new sound samples

A-10A / A-10C II

  • Several tweaks, adjustments, and new audio.

  • Tweaked internals

Mi-24P

  • Tweaked internal ambience

AH-64 Apache (AI)

  • New rotor sound

CH-47 Chinook (AI)

  • New rotor sound

 

A lot of this audio was gathered from various royalty free sources and other purchased audio. Some other audio has been included, sourced by Eagle Dynamics, for mod consistency across our versions.
